About ME

I’m Jade Wright, a Cape Town-based Interior Design student focused on concept-driven, nature- and location-inspired design. Influenced by a long-standing connection to nature and a passion for conservation, I began incorporating biomimicry into my work after my first year of study. While rooted in interior design, I am also interested in the conceptual form and exterior expression of buildings. I am particularly drawn to hospitality, retreat, and experiential design, creating spaces that are calm, immersive, and grounded in their context. Outside of design, I have a strong interest in food, culture, and travel.

PROJECTS

||îBA - DOMESTIC DESIGN

Rooted in the Baviaanskloof mountains, where architecture bows to nature, silhouettes rise and fall with the sun, and ancient tales whisper throughout the valleys.

Hydrowell renewables - commercial design

Inspired by the Rainbow Trout and its swimming behaviours, this hydroelectric generator company's office in Newlands, Cape Town, flows efficiently, creating a collaborative working environment.

Pentimento - residential design

Nestled in the urban heart of Woodstock, Cape Town, lies a penthouse ready to shift from a quiet luxury home into a nighttime cocktail party scene. Acting as an archivist of its previous "lives" the building holds deep visual echoes of urban history.

eben life retreat - hospitality design

A Life Retreat based in Juliasdale, Zimbabwe that emphasizes the non-linear recovery journey. Represented by a 'mosaic' concept, each building provokes different feelings based on its purpose.

My journey starts here.

From Hospitality design rooted in the Baviaanskloof mountains, to Residential design in the urban heart of Woodstock - my project journey is unified by my love for nature.
